Level 2 Caretaker

Grade 5 Scale 14 - £15,767

Permanent 30 hours per week on a split shift:

Mornings:    7.00am – 9.30am

Afternoons: 2.30pm - 6.00pm

During School holidays, hours are more flexible and can be arranged in discussion with the Headteacher/Business Manager.

Leave entitlement is 25 days per year (pro-rata) from 1st September – 31st August. All holidays are to be taken during school closure periods.

The Governors, staff and children are seeking to appoint a Caretaker for our school. We are looking for a hardworking, cheerful person who will be proud to maintain our school and grounds to a very high standard of cleanliness and safety. The ability to complete routine maintenance and the flexibility to deliver these hours over a split shift is essential. The post also includes keeping and maintaining daily, weekly & monthly Health and Safety records in line with Statutory Policy.

Ideally the applicant will have:

  • Experience of facilities cleaning
  • Experience of maintaining a school or other public building
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety guidelines and how to apply them
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and warmth when dealing with children, parents, colleagues and visitors
